Web Design/Solutions
No one can deny the impact the Internet has bought about to
global business. Figures presented by the United Nations Conference
on Trade and Development on e-commerce and development estimated
676 million internet users in 2003, about one tenth of the
worlds population. One can imagine this figure to rise drastically
once developing countries develop the infrastructure to bring
the Internet to its citizens. Forrester Research estimated
global e-commerce in 2002 at approximately US$2.3 trillion
growing to US$12.8 trillion by 2008.
Renaissance Solutions specialises in bringing companies, businesses
and organisations on to the web. Establishing a market presence
on the web is only achieved with a professionally designed
site. Renaissance Solutions takes the stance that web sites
are the new shop fronts to business and organisations. The
same planning and thought taken in designing a shop floor in
order to entice customers and ensure their visit is maximised
and that they return needs to be taken with the website. A
correctly implemented website can give a small business the
potential to compete with big businesses and an incorrectly
implemented website can make a big business appear to be small.
Many businesses have still failed to realise the importance
of a web presence and the potential revenue streams available
via this medium. Some companies have rushed the process and
therefore have websites with little appeal and practicality.
Renaissance Solutions has successfully managed to provide a
web presence for a diverse range of businesses ranging from
small restaurants, musical bands, artists, print studios and
educational forums to corporate Asian telecom giants.
Renaissance Solutions offers the following
design services:
Complete Website Design or Re-design
Your website is the representation of your company on the
Internet it often gives the first impression of your company
to a visitor, and may be your only chance to impress that visitor
and earn their business. There are hundreds of millions of
websites on the Internet, so if yours does not clearly convey
the benefits to the visitor right away, is difficult to navigate,
takes too long to load, or has horrible copy then you might
as well forward your website to your competitor's.
Renaissance Solutions has successfully managed to provide
many small businesses with a web presence. At Renaissance we
understand the tight budget constraints and limited resources
small businesses and start-ups are faced with. We have designed
and supported a host of different clientele ranging from home
based business start-ups to multi-national companies and small
community organisations to government websites.
Our designers and developers understand the values you want your
website to portray. All designs are unique and carefully cultured
to your specific environment and needs. Special communication
between our concept designers and customers takes place to create
original graphics and ideas, which result in a website that shows
their true identity.

solutions and diverse multi-media based customer support
centres. Hosting and Domain Registration
The first step to building a website is to register your
domain name. A domain name is the letters or words that
visitors must type in to come to your website. For example,
Yahoo.com, Amazon.com, and MSN.com are all domain names.
Essentially, they are words (although numbers can be used),
that tell your browser which server to go to and which
website to display on the screen.
For a website to come up when a visitor types in your
domain name, all the files for the website have to be stored
somewhere on a server. Hosting simply is the storage of
these files on a server. Large sites will generally own
their own server, and super sites like yahoo.com or amazon.com
have floors of buildings filled with nothing but servers.
However, for sites in the 1-2000 page range, generally
you won't need your own server. What you will need however,
is space on a server.
To obtain this space, you'll need to purchase a hosting
package from a hosting provider. You have two options when
it comes to getting a website started. You can register
your domain name first, then buy hosting, or you can do
both at the same time and save time and money.
Many software and design companies can
provide you design or hosting services, but Renaissance
Solutions offers you an all in one package with design,
development, hosting and support included. We provide standard
Red-hat Linux (which is the most stable Operating system
known to Man) based hosting to our clients. The standard
account includes Plesk Control Panel, Weekly backups, unlimited
email addresses, PHP, Python and MYSQL support. |
